PlantEasily is the key mod here: it adds batch planting on a configurable grid with your chosen spacing, plus a harvest-all mode. Laying a field goes from minutes of clicking to one motion.
Combine it with PlantEverything so you're not limited to the handful of vanilla crops — you can plant trees, berries, mushrooms and more, which makes a big field actually worth automating.
Add Farming (Smoothbrain) if you want a progression skill that improves yield and speed as you plant, giving agriculture an RPG curve. All three are the classic farming stack.
