How do you plant a whole field at once in Valheim?

Short answer

Choose one of two incompatible alternatives. PlantEasily gives you direct row-and-column grid planting plus optional bulk harvesting immediately. Smoothbrain's Farming unlocks planting and harvesting multiple crops at skill level 20 as part of its progression system. Do not install PlantEasily and Farming together.

The details

PlantEasily is the direct, no-progression route. With the cultivator equipped, adjust rows and columns and place an evenly spaced grid in one operation. Its current README explicitly lists Farming, MassFarming, and FarmGrid as incompatible, so install only one batch-farming system.

Mass harvest is a different toggle within PlantEasily. Its documented bulk-harvest control can collect pickables in an area, and optional replant-on-harvest spends available seeds to restore crops. Enable only the automation you want rather than treating planting and harvesting as one setting.

PlantEverything expands the plant catalogue to gathered resources such as berry bushes, mushrooms, thistle, flowers, and additional saplings. It does not create the batch gesture; it supplies more plantable pieces that PlantEasily can place and harvest.

Smoothbrain's Farming is the progression-based alternative: at skill level 20 it unlocks planting and harvesting multiple crops at once, alongside growth, yield, snapping, and later skill benefits. It can replace PlantEasily for mass farming, but the two are explicitly incompatible and must not be installed together.

Multiplayer setup depends on the alternative. PlantEasily is client-side only and must not be installed on a dedicated server; Smoothbrain's Farming can be installed on the server to enforce its configuration. PlantEverything recommends server and every client for reliable synchronized settings.

Related questions

Why is vanilla Valheim planting so slow?
Vanilla enforces per-seed placement and minimum spacing to prevent overlap, so large farms take a lot of clicks. Grid-plant mods automate the spacing and batching.
Can you harvest a whole field at once too?
Yes. PlantEasily offers optional bulk harvesting and replant-on-harvest immediately; Smoothbrain's Farming unlocks multi-crop harvesting at skill level 20. They are alternative implementations, so choose one and do not install both.
Can PlantEasily and Smoothbrain's Farming be installed together?
No. PlantEasily's current README explicitly lists Farming as incompatible. Choose PlantEasily for immediate configurable grids, or Farming for bulk abilities tied to farming-skill progression.
