How can I find recipes from the materials I have?

Short answer

Neat Crafting adds search and filters to the Build 42 crafting menu so you can work from an item you already have. It needs Neat UI Framework. It does not add a new set of buildable furniture.

An older cache of the page still mentions 42.20. Use the current Workshop description, which states support through B42.21.x for single-player and multiplayer. That statement is the author's, not a playtest of your server. Older Craft Helper recommendations are not a reason to assume that mod still matches this menu.

Install the framework the crafting page asks for. Subscribing to Neat Crafting alone does not satisfy that requirement.

If the menu still looks the same

Confirm both Neat Crafting and Neat UI Framework are enabled on that save. Then search for one material you know you can use. If an old guide still says 42.20, ignore the guide and read the Workshop description dated for the build you play.

Putting materials into the right crates makes this search useful, because the recipe list is only as good as the stock you kept. Looting nearby containers is the step before the crates.

Common questions

Does Neat Crafting add new items?

No. It changes how you find recipes that are already there. New building pieces are a different mod.

Which build does the author name?

The current Workshop description states B42.21.x, including single-player and multiplayer. A leftover 42.20 summary is older than that description.

What is Neat UI Framework?

It is the interface library this mod asks you to install. Enable it with Neat Crafting. It is not optional decoration.

Can I use an old Craft Helper instead?

Do not assume so. Build 42 changed the crafting menu. If you want that older project, check its own page rather than treating it as this one.
